Discover Damon Point at the southeastern tip of Ocean Shores. With four miles of beach walking and water on three sides, Damon Point is one of the best places to hike and view wildlife on Washington's Pacific Coast. Damon Point was once Protection Island, and now the point sits at the end of a grass-covered sand bar connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of sandy beach. The area is roughly 2 miles long and a half mile wide at its widest, yet offers visitors the opportunity to experience many unique activities, including wildlife viewing, walking, surfing, fishing, and rock and shell collecting. Damon Point is an excellent place to collect agates, and sunny days will offer beachcombers stunning views of Mount Rainier and the Olympics.
